Congratulations to the winners of the prize drawing at the last stop on our tasting trip. Brian Hathenbruck will enjoy The Late Harvest Tour with Going Grape while Mark Dillinger will catch some air with SoCal Hot Air Balloon Tours.
Hey guys - take some pics and report back to us. We would love to hear about both adventures.

The trip to Briar Rose, Ponto, and Thornton Wineries were very informative.
Briar Rose owners were very personable and generous with their tasting.
The cheeses were paired perfectly with each wine. The owners shared their
best wines I especially liked the taste of the first two wines the best. The Fol Ipi cheese ( spelling?) was my favorite and plan to look for it when shopping for cheese. We tasted wine beer for the first time.
Ponto winery poured their wine from the steel storage tank. The meal was very
good too. The hostess made a special point of welcoming all the guests.


Mr Thornton sat with us as we sampled our wines. He made a special point of visiting each table. We look forward to going there to hear his jazz programs in the future.

I hope that we will be able to attend more tasting in Temecula. These wines show that southern CA is capable of making some terrific wines.

I think all had a terrific time and the value was incredible. I don't know how Teri did it! Briar Rose does need to work on the size and decor of the tasting room, but the wines were incredible. I loved the lunch, especially the scallops!

We thought The Briar Rose Winery was charmingly decorated. But the reception area was not setting up adequately for a big group.
The Ponte Winery was impressive with the tour
The Thronton Winery was too short for tasting all the wine that were offered
To sum it all up, we really enjoyed ourselved with the Mixer.
